Managing Guest Groups

Weddingkart allows you to organize guests into Groups for better communication and event coordination. These are NOT WhatsApp groups but internal Weddingkart groups to help manage your guest list efficiently.

🔀 Guest Group Operations

🔹 What are Guest Groups?

  • Groups in Weddingkart help categorize guests (e.g., Family, Friends, VIPs).

  • Using groups, you can send announcements to specific sets of guests.

  • Guests can be in multiple groups or moved/copied between groups as needed.

  • An announcement can be sent to one or more groups. If you select multiple groups, the union of guests is taken, meaning each guest will receive the announcement only once.

📌 Creating & Managing Groups

  1. Navigate to Guest Management → Groups.

  2. Click ➕ Create Group.

  3. Enter the group name (e.g., "Bride's Family" or "College Friends").

  4. Click Save, and your group is ready to use.

🔄 Renaming, Merging, Moving, Copying, and Deleting Groups

1️⃣ ✏️ Rename Groups:

  • You can rename a group anytime.

  • Click Manage Groups on the Guest Management screen.

  • Select the group, click Rename, enter the new name, and save changes.

2️⃣ 🔗 Merge Groups:

  • You can merge two or more groups into one.

  • Click Manage Groups on the Guest Management screen.

  • Select the groups you want to merge and click Merge Groups.

  • All guests from the selected groups will be combined into a new group, and the original groups will be deleted.

3️⃣ 📤 Move Guests:

  • Moving a guest from Group A to Group B will add them to B and remove them from A.

4️⃣ 📋 Copy Guests:

  • Copying a guest adds them to the new group without removing them from the original group.

5️⃣ 🗑️ Delete Groups:

  • If a group is no longer needed, you can delete it.

  • Click Manage Groups on the Guest Management screen.

  • Select the group and click Delete.

  • Deleting a group does not delete guests, only the group itself.

🚀 Best Practices for Using Groups

  • Use meaningful group names (e.g., VIPs, Bride's Family) for easy reference.

  • Avoid duplicate groups – keep your guest list well-structured.

  • Keep the number of groups under 10 to maintain simplicity and avoid confusion.

  • Merge similar groups to avoid redundancy and make management easier.
